PINK LADY

PINK LADY

Pink Lady sits above Christchurch, as if it chose not to compete with the city below, but to observe it. Given its altitude, it is a chance for a pause above the noise. It has seen earthquakes tremor and building fall. Perched on the former Canterbury Building Society Building (1961, Peter Bevan), it carries history in its structure and memory in its colour. The name Pink Lady is an ode to the façade of the building which catches the sunrise and glows a soft, almost accidental pink. Commissioned to shape the brand story, visual identity, menus, and signage, we anchored the idea of rising to the top. The act of simply being above it all.
