In Melbourne’s smallest suburb of Gardenvale, Omar & The Marvellous Coffee Bird has quietly become a cult institution for those who believe coffee is more than ritual; it is an act of craftsmanship. Established with a singular ambition, to get people excited about coffee, the café and roastery feels both refined and deeply local. Tasked with building the brand from the ground up, we translated this uncompromising approach into a visual language of sophistication and restraint. The identity system extends seamlessly across retail, interiors, packaging, and digital touchpoints, reinforcing their position as one of Melbourne’s modern coffee icons. Rich metallic copper foils, tactile premium papers, and minimalist typography elevate the packaging beyond commodity coffee into something more sensory and collectable. The identity reflects the same philosophy: meticulous, immersive, and thoughtfully considered. The project was recognised by both the AGDA Australian Design Biennale Awards and the Create Design Awards.
